Our Doctors

Dr Patricia Backhouse is one of our managing principle Drs. for 2010.She is one of our seven female practitioners having a very special interest in women's health and children's health. She also is a Obstetric shared care Dr. Her keen interest in quality general practice leads her to be an examiner for the Royal Australian college of General Practitioners as well as having served on the general practice accreditation team pf AGPAL.

 

Dr Joe Massolino is one of our 5 bilingual doctor and as such is able to bring his general practice expertise to both the Italian and the broader Australian communities. He has a particular interest in pallative care, serving on the doctor team at Mary Potter Hospice.

 

Dr Geoffrey Barrow has a particular interest in caring for children, the surgical side of general practice as well as a special interest in the early diagnosis and treatment of Skin Cancer.   Dr Barrow consults at Skin Matters SA one session per week.  As well as his busy practice schedule he is an examiner for the College of General Practitioners. 

 

Dr Alison Measday consults 4 sessions per week between the Payneham and Newton surgeries.  Alison is one of our seven female practitioners who has a very special interest in women's health and paediatrics.    She is one of the East Adelaide general practioners to provide services at the Adelaide Clinic.

 

Dr Richard Hetzel  consults within the practice 3 days per week and the remaining days at Glenelg.   His  special interests include psychiatry, nutritional medicine and preventative care for middle aged and older people.   Dr Hetzel has written a number of books on Health and Wellbeing the latest of which is available at the practice. He also is involved in developing health services for doctors.

 

Dr Robert Menz continues GP work with us two sessions per week.  His main job is senior medical advisor Medicare Australia, where he has a particular interest in Chronic Disease Management, especially in Aboriginal Health Services.  He has an interest in Standards, and is a board member of AGPAL whis is responsible for accreditation in General Practice.  We are glad to have him continue to be involved with our practice as well as seeing his administrative abilities and wide knowledge of general practice being put to excellent use in this new position

 

Dr Richard Hissey has served the local area as a GP for many years. His special interests include the care of the elderly and surgical procedures. He serves on the medical advisory committee for the College Grove Private Hospital.

 

Dr Peter White has special interests in adolescent and emergency medicine as well as considerable expertise in general practice surgical procedures.  Dr White has a special interest in the early diagnosis and treatment of Skin Cancer.  He represents the practice on the medical advisory committee for the Adelaide Clinic.He also provides services at the Adelaide Clinic  

 

Dr. Flavio Giannitto   He is one of the 5 bilingual doctors being fluent in the Italian language. His special interests include Paediatrics, Sports Medicine, Diabetes and Hypertension.   

 

Dr Andrew Kellie  Is one of our managing principle doctors for 2010. He has practised in   the Newton area for twenty years this year. He completed postgraduate studies in psychiatry in 2006 and in general practice in 2008. His special interests are general practice, psychiatry and chronic disease management.  Andrew is vice-chiar of GP Partners Adelaide, our local division of General Practice. He is also a Obstetric shared care doctor. 

 

 

 

Dr Joe Alvaro is one of our 5 bilingual doctors and as such is able to bring his practice expertise to both the Italian and the broader Australian communities. He has a special interest in Chronic Disease Management and women's health.He is also a Obstetric shared care doctor.

 

Dr. Dragica Sosa: Dr. Dragica Sosa has come to EAHC after practicing in Salisbury North for 15 years. She has an interest in pediatrics, women's health, antenatal shared care and chronic disease management. She is bilingual, speaking Croatian. As well as working part-time in general practice, Dragica is medical education co-coordinator for general practice registrars in the regional GP Training Program.

 

Dr. Kirsty Kneebone: Dr Kirsty Kneebone has worked in family medicine in the Campbelltown Area for the last 20 years and joined EAHC in January 2007. She has special interests in diabetes, women's' health and geriatric medicine. Dr Kneebone also provides services at the             Adelaide Clinic

Dr Pam Crawley: Dr. Pam Crawley graduated from Adelaide University and has worked as a GP in the Campbelltown area for many years. She joined EAHC in January 2007 and consults 3 days per week. Her special interests are women's health including shared obstetric care, preventative care and pediatrics.

Dr. Maria Sauchelli Maria has recently moved back from the Yorke Peninsula where she worked as a rural GP for 7 years.  Maria joins our team of seven female GP's.  She speaks fluent Italian and Spanish.  She works at both the Newton and Payneham surgeries three days per week.
