Phone and Telehealth Consult Fees for Private Patients

There are now fees for our private patients that do not meet Medicare's criteria for being bulk-billed for a Phone or Telehealth consult (see below for Medicare's criteria). Patients that meet Medicare's criteria for being bulk-billed will continue to be bulk-billed for these consults.

Full payment for your consult will be taken over the phone where possible and Medicare rebates will be paid directly into your bank account when the account is paid in full.

 

Medicare Criteria for being bulk-billed for a Phone or Telehealth Consult

Patients that fit the following criteria will be eligible to be bulk-billed for their Phone or Telehealth consult:

  • Patients aged 16 and under.
  • Patients on a Pension or Healthcare Card.
  • Patients who qualify as vulnerable which means at risk of COVID-19, so a person who:
 
  • Is required to self-isolate or self-quarantine in accordance with guidance issued by the AHPPC in relation to COVID-19; or
 
  • is at least 70 years old; or
 
  • if the person identifies as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent—is at least 50 years old; or
 
  • is pregnant; or
 
  • is the parent of a child aged under 12 months; or
 
  • is being treated for a chronic health condition; or
 
  • is immune compromised; or
 
  • meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection.
