The aim of this practice is to keep appointments running to schedule. However, priority will be given to urgent cases when necessary and this may cause delays.

Being late is annoying for patients and stressful for staff and doctors.  Quite often our consultations can run over time.  Just 4 minutes extra per consultation means that the doctor is 1 hour late at the end of the session. You can assist us by the following:

• If you require a longer appointment advise the receptionist at the time of booking and a longer appointment time will be allocated.
• Being understanding if the doctor suggests you come back to address remaining issues.
• Understanding that a "fit in" or "brief" appointment is for really urgent / can't wait conditions on the day, and that the doctor will only deal with that urgent problem.

Reception staff will inform you where possible of any delay when you arrive. 

There is a cancellation fee of $22.00 for appointments not cancelled with an adequate advanced notice (charged at the discretion of individual doctors).
We encourage patients to notify us if they are unable to attend an appointment - this enables us to offer the appointment to another patient.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of the care you receive, please discuss this with the Practice Manager, Gina Bilibio or your doctor.

We believe problems are best dealt within the practice. However, external complaints may be made to the SA Medical Board - phone 8362 7811.

Christine Boorman is a diabetes educator that now consults at East Adelaide Healthcare.
Christine provides a quality diabetes education service for existing and new patients.

Please note - by paying the full amount on the day you will receive a $15 discount.
Medicare rebates will be paid directly into your bank account when paid in full (to do this you need to supply medicare with your bank details).

After-hours gaps when account is paid in full on the day:

Cash, cheques and credit cards are all accepted (American Express Cards are not accepted) - EFTPOS facilities are available.
Medicare rebates can be paid directly into your account within 48hours - by supplying medicare with your bank details.

Please ask a receptionist to arrange a time for a visit if you are unable to get to either surgery.

Every patient's medical history is treated confidentially. However, at times relevant patient information may be passed on to another practitioner who is involved in that patient's care.

Your medical record is a confidential document.  It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Physiotherapy consultations are provided at both Marden and Newton surgeries by Olivio Varricchio B.Physio. of Physiotherapy ACTIVE.
Olivio specialises in sports & spinal injuries incl workcover and motor vehicle accident claims as well as treating eligible patients under  the Medicare scheme.
He is also the club physiotherapist for MetroStars Soccer Club.

Private Health Funds:  Physiotherapy ACTIVE is a Mutual Community and MBF preferred provider which means that extra cover is available for such members.     Olivio provides services for most Private Health funds and through the HI-CAPS machine, Funds can be billed directly using the membership card.    The subsequent gap must be paid at the time of consult.

Maria Kotatis provides a comprehensive range of podiatry services at East Adelaide Healthcare.
All of Maria's sessions are held at the Marden Clinic located at 337 Payneham Road, Marden.

Patients requesting a referral without an appointment will be charged a fee:

East Adelaide Healthcare provides a recall system for various health checks. Please speak with your doctor or our nurses about this facility.

A brief appointment is required for all prescriptions (including repeat prescriptions) - this appointment will be for the review and issue of the prescription.

A further appointment will be required for any further treatment.

If you require a prescription and are unable to make an appointment, a fee will be charged:

The doctors will take urgent phone calls at any time and non urgent phone calls if they are free at that time.
If  the doctor is unavailable, they will try to return your call when they are available.
Alternatively, you may speak to one of our registered nurses If it is an issue that they may be able to help you with.

All results are reviewed by your treating doctor and then given out to you (or anyone who is authorised to receive them on your behalf) by our Registered Nurses.
